In this internship, you will be part of the Lipids team, within our Research & Innovation (R&I) business. Our purpose is to create innovative and superior technological solutions based on fats and oils to answer patients and consumers’ needs. During this internship, your key role will be to contribute to our product portfolio by starting an investigation into polar lipid ingredients and how they can be utilized best to serve Danone and its consumers and patients. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Review literature, extract relevant data, and design a research plan to investigate the performance of polar lipids.
  • Execute lab and pilot-scale trials to assess their performance in final products.
  • Analyse trial products to gain deeper scientific understanding and connect analytical results to the fundamental properties of polar lipid ingredients.
  • Present your findings in a clear and impactful report that showcases the significance of your results

About you

As a Lipids Intern, experimental design and data analysis will be second nature to you. you’re enthusiastic, creative and growth‑minded, always looking for opportunities to learn and develop. Previous experience with fats, oils and lecithin, food product characterization or analytical methodology is considered a plus.

 

There are also some compulsory requirements:

  • Enrolled as a Bachelors/master’s student in food science/technology, Chemical Engineering or a similar field during the whole internship period;
  • You are a resident of the Netherlands and hold a valid BSN number (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to have a valid Dutch residency permit);
  • Ideally available to start in March/April for a minimum of 6 months,, 4/5 days per week;
  • You are fluent in English - spoken and written;
  • You are able to work from our Utrecht office, at least 4 days per week.
