In this internship, you will be part of the Global R&I Packaging Team, within our Specialized Nutrition business. Our purpose is to design packaging solutions that meet the needs of consumers across early life and medical nutrition, while driving sustainability and innovation.

During this internship, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and support packaging design initiatives focused on metal cans and rigid plastics.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Understanding consumer experience and identifying opportunities for improvement and change it in line with future consumer expectations
  • Designing new pack functionalities and exploring packaging circularity;
  • Creating 3D prototypes using tools like SolidWorks and Keyshot;
  • Supporting packaging trials and transport tests to validate lifecycle performance;
  • Applying design thinking principles to identify and validate solutions by rapidly prototyping and testing ideas.

 

About you

As a Packaging Design Intern, creative problem solving will be second nature to you. You are a strong communicator who enjoys working in a dynamic, international environment. On top of that? You’re a proactive, precise person who’s always looking for opportunities to learn and develop.

 

You also bring:

  • Experience with design tools like sketching, CAD (e.g. SolidWorks), rendering (e.g.) KeyShot and prototyping;
  • Knowledge of packaging conversion technologies(e.g. injection moulding) and materials;
  • A collaborative mindset and curiosity to learn;

There are also some compulsory requirements:

  • Enrolled as a Bachelors/Masters student in Packaging, Industrial Design Engineering, Product Design, or any related field during the whole internship period;
  • You are a resident of the Netherlands and hold a valid BSN number (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to have a valid Dutch residency permit);
  • Ideally available to start in November for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days per week;
  • You are fluent in English - spoken and written;
  • You are able to work from our Utrecht office, at least 2 days per week.
