We are currently recruiting for a Material Cost Controller within our Finance Department. This is a Permanent, full-time contract.

The Material Cost Controller plays a critical role in driving cost transparency, financial control, and performance improvement at the Wexford Supply Point. The role supports effective decision‑making by ensuring accurate reporting, robust forecasting, and proactive financial partnering across Material Costs and OP/PCM activities.

Acting as a trusted finance business partner to Operations and Activity teams, the role ensures that product costings, PPV, and productivity initiatives are accurately reflected in financial systems and forecasts, while highlighting risks, opportunities, and savings to improve P&L performance. The position directly contributes to cost discipline, forecast reliability, and continuous improvement, strengthening business results through timely insights, strong governance, and enhanced financial awareness across the site.

The role also provides continuity and support to IWS LE Pillar, contributing to identifying losses, analysing material losses and providing financial insights into the material cost structure.

Lastly, the Material Cost Controller will work closely with the Capex & Material Cost Controller and be able to step in and represent them during any periods of absence.

Core responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Preparation and review of month end accounts for all Material costs in the P&L, including PPV and losses, monthly cost review vs forecast and animation and explanation.
• Produce and circulate MVA variances and SRC calculations with required level of interaction and animation to ensure understanding.
• Lead the Semi-finished and Finished goods costing process (SCP and day-to-day).
• Input into rolling forecast process for Product Costings & PPV with clear visibility and understanding of cost forecast, including risk and opportunities.
• Continuously look to improve reporting, animation and efficiency of our processes (Power BI, Tagetik).
• Provide efficient and accurate monthly Group reporting in required format (Heatmap and other central related requirements).
• IWS Pillar member (Losses Elimination)
• Ad hoc analysis and requests.
• Production of timely, accurate and effective monthly losses and material cost analysis for stakeholders.
• Comply with the Group reporting timescales for reporting and analysis.
• Continuously improve the financial data within the ERP system to improve the quality of financial reporting and analysis.
• Provide meaningful analysis for decision making.
• Educate all Wexford colleagues to a higher level of financial awareness.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified accountant- ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA qualified preferred
• Minimum of 2-5 years’ PQE, incl. 2-3 years of material cost controlling.
• Must be numerate, analytical and have good oral & written communication skills
• Have hands on experience of modern integrated ERP systems & proficient in the use of Excel and PowerBI.
• Ability to work on own initiative and within cross functional groups
