Are you an experienced Patent Information Professional with a background in intellectual property and scientific research? We have an exciting opportunity as a Patent Information Professional at Danone Nutricia Research in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

In your role as Patent Information Professional, you will provide patent information and patent-related scientific information to enable patent assessments. Being part of the Global Patent Team, your key responsibilities are:

• Performing comprehensive patent searches across food science, processing, packaging, and services, including patentability, novelty, and freedom-to-operate assessments.
• Delivering patent landscape analyses and supporting patent opposition and validity evaluations.
• Providing patent alerts, monitoring, and competitive intelligence.
• Maintaining internal patent databases and end-user tools.
• Analyzing and reporting search results with added value for patent attorneys and research teams.
• Supporting and training research teams in IP-related matters.
• Actively contributing to cross-functional innovation and research teams.

Meet your future manager! You will report to Maarten HOIJER, Patent Attorney. 

In order to be successful in this role, you are able to work in a dynamic international environment and with international technical documentation. You have a passion for food scientific research, engineering and packaging. Finally, you have creative & practical problem-solving skills, and you are able to respond fast with high accuracy. 

You also are:

• Comfortable with data, databases, excel, etc. You have experience with searching tools including major patent related databases/hosts like STN, Questel, publicly available sources of patent information and legal status information like national registers.
• Knowledgeable in patent law, including novelty and inventive step and are able to apply this to technical documentation and reporting.
• Preferably hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Food, Chemistry or Biology or other related field.
• Fluent in English.
• Able to communicate effectively to various function within R&I and other disciplines, including accurate, comprehensive and consumer friendly reporting in writing.
• Able to organize well your workload.
