At the Danone Factory in Haps the powder production processes are carried out to make Early Life Nutrition.
The Process Technology department is involved in several aspects which influencing the product quality, capacity and/or sustainability of the process. The knowledge about the process can always be improved. Continuous improvement, studies and validations are required to stay best in class with our factory. Already a lot of data and insights were gained, but there is still a lot more to discover and to learn at the great world of Powder Production. Do you want to join us in this journey?
At the powder production department several process units are present, like the hydrolysis line, ultrafiltration, evaporators, feed lines, spray dryer and bigbag-filling station. Continuous process validation is carried out. Data from sensors and/or (product) analysis will be gathered to conform that the process is determined on the Danone standards. A fully controlled process shows a very constant output, with less variation in product quality, energy consumption and even less maintenance requirements.
Validation about the KPI was performed. A full re-validation will be required to check if the system is still performing as it is designed for, for different recipes. This will give more knowledge and insights for optimalisation for a more sustainable process. Next to that, a guideline will be written, so in future easier a re-validation can be performed on this process unit.
Mapping the current situation, for different recipes and different evaporators:
Data collection will be done on several ways, for example: talking to operators in the field, following live the processes, setting-up trials to gain more information, taking (product) samples, and making trends on your laptop of the different sensors (like pressure, temperature, flow) in the factory.
