About the job

The primary purpose of the QFS Coordinator is to ensure that all procedures in place meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The QFS Coordinator will develop and implement quality control procedures, conduct regular inspections, and work closely with production teams to identify and resolve any quality issues.

Functional

  • Support the quality & food safety related queries from operational, logistics or other teams.
  • Drive non-conformance identification, NC / PNC initiation, RCA, corrective and preventive actions and NC / PNC timely completion.

 

Management of day to day Food Safety and Quality Functions

  • Participate in a morning meeting with the production team to discuss the day's plan, identify potential challenges, and align quality priorities.
  • Investigate Non-Conformances: Conduct thorough, risk-based investigations of process related non-conformances, focusing on prevention. Identify and implement sustainable actions to reduce non-conformances.
  • Complaint Management: working closely with claim investigation specialists, support consumer and customer complaints and non-conformance issues investigation, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee daily operations related to food safety and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Drive Quality Assurance on the shopfloor based on PRPs and HACCP principles.
  • Regularly inspect production facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards
  • Management of PRP’s, such as GMP, pest control, contractor management and intrusive maintenance.
  • Record keeping by completing all documentation in a timely manner as per outlined in SOP or in systems such as Veeva.
  • Prepare and present reports on quality metrics, performance, and improvement initiatives to senior management.

 

Staff training and communication

  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on quality control measures, food safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate with line leaders and operators to ensure process conformity and that products meet company standards.

 

Standard Operating Procedures

  • Monitor performance according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels. Initiate, review or update SOPs as required.

 

Plant Non-routine Activities

  • Support plant non-routine activities, e.g., shutdown, trials, validations, commissioning of new equipment etc

 

Health & Safety (WISE)

  • Contribute to the achievement of a zero harm workplace through active participation in and support of the company’s WISE Health & Safety program.
  • Ensure a high level of awareness & understanding of all relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures, as may be issued/amended from time to time, both for yourself and, where applicable, your direct reports and/or team members. Shall be actively involved in the OH&S program to minimise risks and to provide input into the development of safe work procedure.
  • Ensure that all accidents & incidents are reported in a timely manner as required by H&S procedures.

 

Audits

  • Support external audits (FSSC 22000 and customer audits). Drive internal GMP/GHP audit, Integrated Pest Management Reviews.
  • Support internal system audits (Internal FSSC22000 audit, FSI audit etc.)

About you

Education

  • College or University degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering or a related discipline

 

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a FMCG manufacturing plant, ideally in Food industry

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Interpersonal

  • Time Management and Prioritizing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment
  • Japanese language ability required. On top English ability is preferred (at minimum, willingness to engage actively to develop this ability)

Technical

  • Food safety training,
  • Good understanding of food related GHP & GMP
  • ISO 22000 standard, HACCP methodology
  • Auditing skills
  • Non-conformance investigation, RCA, Change Control management
  • Advanced computer skills
