About the job

The Raw Materials Quality Control (QC) and Grading Administrator is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of raw materials used in manufacturing processes.

This position will be responsible, in association with the Quality Team, to work with the Manufacturing and other relevant departments i.e. Supply Chain, Operations, QC Laboratories, Technical Teams, and Central Functions relevant to ensure compliance of raw materials.   

 

Responsibilities

Execute project and routine quality tasks and compile daily performance reports

  • Responsible for the overall Raw Material Quality Control administration process in compliance with quality and food safety standards
  • Verification of raw materials and issuing of Certs of Analysis 
  • Continuous Quality Control Administration Improvement
  • Provide performance feedback to raw materials suppliers
  • Cross-check Certs of Analysis for compliance to agreed specifications and standards
  • Ensure raw materials are available for production as part of factory system management processes
  • Liaise with the laboratory regarding analysis of pre-shipment raw material samples 
  • Maintain a crucial link with the laboratory regarding scheduling of testing
  • Provide feedback on QC approval to ship to raw material suppliers
  • Create and input records on factory management systems
  • Input compositional data to LIMS/SAP for QC Approve/Reject decisions 
  • Build strong and sustainable business relationships with key suppliers and third parties

 

Bamboo & Guardian and other systems interlined to Quality – Key User 

  • Bamboo and Guardian/Tekdan WMS/WISEMES Key User to help support system users as required and support new / developments with regards to systems.
  • Optimize further existing systems to automate and develop dashboards that can be easily represented into Dashboards such as Power BI Tools etc

 

SOPs & Training 

  • Work with the on-site Training Officer & Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) writers to ensure that QFS requirements and protocols are fully incorporated in factory SOPs, and fully understood by operators during subsequent training 
  • Develop and build Quality SOPs based on current practices and Corporate Standards as well as legal requirements
  • Coaching for Employees on Quality Standards / Practices and skills required to ensure site wide excellence on Quality Standards
  • Prepare and partake in external/internal corporate FSMS audits, and internal audits based on GMP/PRP/FSMS and ensure actions are implemented

 

Factory Auditing

  • Support during factory audits to help ensure successful outcomes, lead traceability chapter and support other Quality Management Systems as required.
  • Perform internal auditing as per the audit schedule to achieve operational excellence by challenging and implementing improvements to assure compliance with cGMP and continuous improvement projects
  • Define corrective actions (CAPA) for non-conformances with clear plan for continuous performance improvement

 

QC Relief for Base-Powder

  • Provide support to the Base-powder Grading Officer by providing relief/cover for periods of annual leave
  • Investigate customer complaints and establish clear root causes, and address/implement actions to eliminate re-occurrence

 

Lead Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously improve standards set by leading and executing Practical Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis and perform GAP analysis on manufacturing data to understand where to focus/prioritise problem solving efforts.
  • Define and implement CAPA, and update / create Standard Operating Procedures 

About you

Experience

  • Have the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. 
  • Experience in similar role in manufacturing environment and / or relevant 3rd level qualification. 
  • Logical and methodical approach to work practices and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Flexible, open and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for learning new skills is a must
  • Mature and stable personality who can manage stressful and challenging environments
  • Strong support for high quality and hygiene standards
