Raw & Pack Sourcing Manager

As a Raw & Pack Sourcing Manager you will ensure optimal supplier selection for Egypt’s Raw and Pack categories, focusing on cost, quality, innovation, and sustainability. The role involves developing long-term sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, driving savings initiatives, and aligning with global and regional procurement teams to meet business objectives.  

About the job

As a Raw & Pack Sourcing Manager, you will be doing the following activities:

• Source for local suppliers in compliance with Danone standards for Quality, Supply, competitiveness, innovation, and Sustainability

• Work closely with the Global Procurement Team, to align on top level commercial strategies.

• Manage Egypt Raw and Pack categories.

• Prepare Raw and Pack category buying strategy for 3 years

• Engage with regional teams to understand business and regional needs, forecast and demand and provide them with Egypt needs.

• Collaborate with other buyers and support execute procurement strategies. • Develop and drive category savings initiatives aligned with business objectives. • Create & evaluate market facts and trends (market intelligence).

• Provide a fact-based understanding of current supply base and intelligence on contracts terms.

• Develop and execute multi-year unique commodity procurement strategies. • Identify and select suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms and conditions for categories. • Design and manage the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quotation workflow as needed to support business objectives.

• Lead negotiations with suppliers.

• Manage supplier relationships (SRM) with key strategic suppliers and develop playbooks to define the working relationship. Drive delivery of best-in-class performance. • Engage in dispute resolution and conduct regular and disciplined client engagement for continuous improvement processes.

• Deliver documented savings from bid processes, negotiations, and innovative savings opportunities to meet business requirements and procurement organization objectives.

• Monitor monthly and yearly forecast per material.

• Manage communications with suppliers and serve as key point of contact for Danone businesses on contractual matters.

• Secure new Raw Materials through to first industrial deliveries (risk analysis, negotiation, capacity monitoring)

• Manage R&P category reporting in terms of budget; productivity; quality notifications; spend; SPR; Innovations and local versus global spend • Support in implementing R&P process

• Maintain suppliers and commodity strategies in the appropriate databases.

• Reference and integrate the new suppliers, by applying the Danone Selection Criteria

• Resolving price discrepancies

• Seeking out savings opportunities while maintaining quality standards

• Participating in storeroom physical inventory

• Ensure the alignment between R&I and Operations on the Category sourcing strategies

• Lead Internal and External Benchmarking

• 3-5+ years of buying experience.

• Excellent verbal and writing skills.

• Strong negotiation, organization, and management abilities.

• Ability to effectively interact with and influence people at all levels and varied cultures within and outside of company.

• Ability to balance short-term vs. long-term needs, company vs. supplier needs.

• Detail oriented, demonstrated analytical capabilities.
