The Retail Development Specialist (RDS) for Danone drives in-store sales growth by executing Danone’s strategic retail plan in RIVE NORD Territory (Laurentides – Lanaudière).  By maximizing store coverage and fostering strong, win-win relationships, the successful candidate will expand Danone’s presence across all retail touchpoints—distribution, space, displays, on-shelf availability, and in-store activation—aligned with Danone’s retail priorities. The RDS will leverage advanced retail tools and data (e.g., Power BI, sales platforms) to ensure compliance and identify growth opportunities. This is a dynamic sales development role with daily shopper and customer interaction.      

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Danone execution strategy and plans to ensure compliance and identify sales opportunities with customers
  • Build strong mutually beneficial relationships and be able to maintain a strong business focus and shopper understanding.
  • Proactively manage and negotiate product distribution, space, and visibility on display and on the shelves.
  • Interpret point of sales (POS) dollars and units’ data as well as market shares to identify opportunities
  • Negotiate merchandising tools placement and refrigerated units.
  • Conduct business reviews with customers and influence inventory management with pre-orders in store
  • Train and manage a merchandiser
  • Be creative, think outside the box and be a team player who is not afraid to share and learn from others.
  • Plan, prioritize and organize your own work and monitor progress vs target to ensure objectives are delivered on time and in full
  • Cover your territory effectively

The annual base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $85,000.00 CAD. The final salary offered will be determined by factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity and external market conditions.

About you

 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:

  • University degree in business administration or another relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales representative role or relevant role
  • Great interest in the consumer goods market
  • Communication, customer focus and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities
  • Agility, positive attitude, respect for the work ethic
  • Good knowledge of sales techniques and ability to persuade with facts and figures
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Resides in the assigned territory
  • Possesses a valid driver licence
  • French & English are mandatory (spoken and written). Bilingualism is required for this position, as it involves frequent communication with our business units, plants, and business partners located outside Québec
