This is a senior contributor role responsible for leading selected, high-priority public affairs projects for the Danone group of companies in Poland. You will develop and implement advocacy strategies, build regulatory and political influence, represent Danone with key external stakeholders, and coordinate cross-functional activities across the organization.
You will translate legislative and political developments into business recommendations, shape influence plans, and strengthen Danone’s position in dialogue with public administration, parliament, and industry associations. This role requires strong confidence in navigating the Polish legislative and institutional environment, a deep understanding of how government administration and decision-making processes work in practice, and a sound basic understanding of the European Union legislative and public policy framework. It also requires political judgement, resilience, and the ability to operate effectively in demanding stakeholder environments.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Public Affairs Manager will include (but not limited to):
Leading strategic public affairs projects across selected business and regulatory priorities in Poland, particularly in areas related to taxation, packaging policy, public consultations, and broader food, beverage, and specialised nutrition agendas with a material impact on Danone’s business.
Representing the company and building strong relationships with public administration, parliament, industry associations, coalition partners and external advisors, while actively strengthening Danone’s presence and influence in relevant external forums, organisations and policy discussions.
Monitoring legislative developments, assessing business impact, shaping Danone’s responses, and driving internal alignment across functions such as Sustainability, Legal, Regulatory, Tax, Communications, R&I, and business teams.
Acting as a trusted partner selected high-stakes external interactions, supporting difficult stakeholder conversations, helping defend Danone’s position, and contributing to issue and risk management where public affairs engagement is required.
Contributing to the European PA Network, ensuring alignment and sharing best practices across markets.
We are looking for a Senior Public Affairs Manager with strong strategic, political and interpersonal capabilities.
You bring:
Minimum 9 years of experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Advocacy, External Affairs or Corporate Affairs.
Experienced professional with a strong background in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Advocacy, or Corporate Affairs.
Proven track record of leading complex advocacy projects with tangible business relevance.
Experience in building and managing relationships with public institutions, parliament, industry associations, and external partners.
Strong experience in building and managing relationships with public institutions, parliament, industry associations and external partners.
Good understanding of the broader public policy context affecting regulated industries; experience in FMCG, food, health, nutrition, sustainability or another regulated environment will be a strong asset.
At least basic understanding of the European Union legislative and public policy landscape.
Strong ability to translate legislative and political developments into practical business recommendations and influence strategies.
Experience operating effectively in cross-functional environments and coordinating multiple stakeholders without formal line management.
Fluent Polish and English, both written and spoken.
