Danone is looking for a skilled Quality & Food Safety Lead for Middle East based in Cairo, Egypt, to lead food safety and quality assurance, in the Middle east, Levant and Pakistan. This role will work on long-term projects within different functions plus day to day activities in the region. 

The candidate will also carry the following responsibilities: 

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead and manage the quality and food safety programs across the Middle East region, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to maintain high standards of product safety and quality.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of warehouses and distribution centers across the Middle East facilities to identify and address potential risks and non-compliance issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless integration of quality and food safety practices.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on quality and food safety protocols, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Monitor and analyze quality key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions to address any deviations from established standards.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory, local authorities, and certification bodies, to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Lead investigations into quality and food safety incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry or any related field (master’s degree is a plus).
• 5 to 8 years of experience within FMCG, chemical, or manufacturing industries, preferably including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and management
• Strong understanding of local regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience in the FMCG industry
• Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Location:
Cairo, Egypt
Business trips to MENA countries required   

Languages:
Fluent level of English is required.
