For SN R&I-Process & Technology, we are offering a Team Leader Laboratory position. You will join our Food Sciences and Technologies team and report to the Senior Team Leader FST. The laboratory utilizes over 100 techniques, combining elements of physical chemistry and analytical chemistry. The role is based in Utrecht. 

Your main responsibilities 

As Team Leader Laboratory, you are accountable for the organization, execution, and securing data belonging to Laboratory analysis performed within your team. Importance of these analysis is highlighted by the key role of your team in registration of our specialized nutrition portfolio to global markets. Analysis are mainly requested by the product development teams, who are our main internal stakeholder and customer. In addition to managing a total team of 6 FTE, you will keep track of department KPIs and deliver high-quality output, all within the department's ISO9001 quality management system. 

 
Your key responsibilities are: 

• Train coach, inspire and motivate your team members. Responsible for meeting preparation and  facilitation within your scope.  

• Responsible for the organizational structure and overall performance of your team. Drive innovation and efficiency projects within your scope. 

• Responsible for analysis prioritization and resource allocation.  

• Provide senior-level support in complex laboratory queries and provide training to our customers when needed. 

• Be the main contact and sparring partner for product development teams, quality and other global partners within your network.  

• Drive periodical financial reporting and department KPI’s. Keep overview on P&L and department OPEX and CAPEX projects.  

• Drive governance and optimization of management systems, analysis templates and reporting tools.  

• Continuous improvement of physical chemistry methods, internal standards and processes conform ISO9001. Drive quality and safety related projects within your scope.  

• Actively contributes and expand network to achieve our global ambitions.

• Food Sciences and Technology lab Utrecht and Liverpool 

• Laboratory team Liverpool  

• Product development teams: Liquids, Powder & Plant Based 

• Pilot Plant and Global performance team in Utrecht 

• Quality and Food safety teams 

• Finance 

To excel in this position, our ideal candidate should have a strong affinity with or already have some experience in leading teams. Additionally, a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field is required. We are looking for someone who is a solution-driven problem solver, possesses analytical thinking, can work both independently and as a team player, is result-oriented, innovative, proactive, has a hands-on mentality, attention to detail, is ambitious, and decisive. 

• Affinity with or experienced in team leadership 

• Experienced in working with Quality Systems such as ISO9001 

• Excellent communication / presentation skills 

• Proficient in conducting validations and applying fundamental statistical methods relevant to this field. 

• Excellent record keeping / documentation skills 

• Innovative in data processing solutions 

• Affinity with or experienced in Excel / Power BI 

• Experience in managing external suppliers 

• Ability to work under deadlines, with multiple priorities 

• Ability to work cross-functionally within organization 

• Self-driven, results oriented, able to work independently 

• Able to quickly learn new systems, tools, and programs  

• Detail oriented.  

• Fluent in English
