Transport Manager

About the job

Reporting to Logistics Director, as a Transport Manager, you will play a key role within the logistics management team. Your mission: elevate the performance of our transport network, develop long-lasting partnerships with our carriers, and drive the transformation of our operations to deliver reliable, modern, and competitive service.

You will have a direct impact on our financial results and service quality by managing supplier performance, optimizing transport strategies, and implementing innovative solutions that support our growth while reducing our environmental footprint.

Your position will involve close collaboration with internal teams—planning, customer service, finance, warehousing—as well as our strategic carriers. You will be at the heart of executing our transport vision, continuous improvement, and the evolution of our logistics network in Canada.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Carrier Partner Management

  • Foster and develop relationships with our carriers to ensure optimal day-to-day performance (on-time delivery, quality, cost, complaint management).
  • Guide and support the daily operations team (UberFreight) in resolving issues.
  • Conduct performance reviews (weekly, monthly) and drive associated improvement plans.

Performance Management & Strategic Analysis

  • Define, implement, and monitor relevant transport KPIs to quickly identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze cost trends, supplier performance, and productivity, and recommend concrete actions to strengthen network reliability.
  • Produce and share transport performance data using Power BI, Uber Freight, and other analytic tools.

Supplier Portfolio Negotiation & Optimization

  • Lead annual reviews of commercial agreements with our carriers to reduce costs and continuously improve service.
  • Co-lead RFPs with the procurement team and optimize the partner portfolio.
  • Enhance strategic collaboration with carriers and build joint productivity initiatives.

Continuous Improvement Projects & Network Transformation

  • Define and execute the medium-term transport strategy, including network development projects.
  • Develop innovative solutions with external partners: route optimization, digital tools, process automation, CO₂ reduction initiatives.
  • Actively participate in logistics transformation projects and supply chain performance routines.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in transport management and supplier performance oversight.
  • Excellent understanding of logistics environments and transport operation models (TL, LTL, 3PL, etc.).
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Desired proficiency with SAP, TMS (Transplace), Power BI or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a sharp sense of customer service.
  • Natural leadership and ability to work in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Results-oriented mindset, commitment to continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving skills.
