At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Training & Development Leader based in our yogurt manufacturing plant in West Jordan, Utah!  

The Training and Development Leader is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees. This position assesses plant wide development needs, drives training initiatives, and creates dynamic training solutions for employees. This position actively searches for and creatively designs effective methods to educate employees and enhance performance. 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

• Assessing department training gaps and working with operational leaders to create and execute training opportunities.   

• Planning, organizing, and facilitating employee development and training events.  

• Participating in development, tracking and delivery of annual compliance training. 

• Managing department training budgets.  

• Regularly communicating training status and progression to department leadership through weekly tracking and reporting.   

• Obtaining and/or developing effective training materials utilizing a variety of media including PowerPoint, charts, videos, and presentations.  

• Developing and coordinating training material, working with the department leaders and operators on specific process details. This may include process observation throughout the plant.  

• Conducting follow-up of completed training to evaluate and measure results. 

• Modifying programs as needed. 

• Working effectively with other members of management and the HR staff to manage training plans for new hires and inter-department moves.   

• Scheduling training sessions within training programs - ensuring facility and audiovisual setup and employee notification.  

• Interfacing with subject matter experts to provide courses that engage and motivate attendees.  

• Ensuring the effectiveness of programs developed and/or administered.  

• Advancing the skills within the existing workforce. 

• Training and coaching supervision, and others involved in employee developmental efforts.  

• Exemplifying the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.  

• Demonstrating IWS Leadership and leading site E&T Pillar 

• Performing all other assigned tasks/duties.

• Strong presentation skills.  

• Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.  

• Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.  

• Ability to design and implement effective training and development.  

• Must be a leader, able to motivate others, able to recognize areas of need across the company and tackle projects independently. 

• Must possess superior spreadsheet and database computer skills. 

• Established project management skills. Must bring leadership, interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with various levels of plant and corporate personnel and influence others. 

• Demonstrate ability to work with cross-functional teams and to share knowledge/ideas. 

• Meticulous work ethic and keen awareness to detail. 

• Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate trainees across all shifts. 

• Ability to work under deadlines, with multiple priorities and tolerate stress.  

• Must be adaptable and flexible and demonstrate patience, persistence, and resilience. 

Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience. 

• Experience in designing and implementing employee training material and/or programs preferred.  

Working Conditions: 

• Manufacturing Plant  

• Internal traffic (e.g., various personnel operating powered equipment or handling raw materials)  

• Potential hazards (e.g., chemicals, sharp objects, heavy machinery, and steam pipelines) 

• Loud noises, agricultural odors, wet floors, and condensation 

• Other responsibilities require stamina and endurance (e.g., standing, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc.) and the ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs. Availability to work flexible hours (e.g., on-call, late nights, and weekends).
