EU Senior Logistics Controller

About the job

The EU Senior Logistics Controller is part of the EMEA Operations Finance team and reports directly to the Europe Logistics Finance Head.

The role acts as a senior finance business partner for EU logistics, working closely with Operations Europe Supply Chain, Cycles& Procurement Europe, and CBUs to provide financial insights, identify risks and opportunities, and support action‑oriented performance management and decision‑making across the logistics perimeter.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Logistics Performance & Financial Cycles

  • Lead and coordinate monthly closing, Rolling Forecast, and AOP cycles for Europe logistic function.
  • Consolidate and analyse logistics cost performance across CBUs and Supply Points
  • Identify and explain key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities versus Actuals / Forecast / AOP
  • Ensure consistency, robustness, and reliability of logistics financial outputs

Business Partnering & Financial Insight

  • Act as finance business partner to Operations Europe Supply Chain and Cycles & Procurement Europe
  • Bring strong financial acumen to the Ops community by translating data into relevant insights that support decisions and trigger actions
  • Proactively identify and highlight risks, opportunities, and sensitivities impacting logistics performance
  • Contribute to performance reviews and governance forums with clear, value‑adding financial analysis

 

Alignment & Performance Management

  • Drive alignment across CBUs on assumptions, KPIs, and performance interpretation
  • Ensure logistics performance is clearly understood and comparable across the European perimeter
  • Challenge inputs constructively to improve transparency and decision quality

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead and develop 2 direct reports
  • Focus on capability building, financial skill development, and professional growth within the team
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities aligned with individual strengths and aspirations
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages learning, ownership, and engagement

Data Quality & Financial Governance

  • Ensure high data quality and consistency across reports and analytics tools
  • Ensure compliance with finance policies and internal control standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of logistics controlling processes and reporting

About you

To succeed in this role, you fulfil the following:

  • Relevant experience in Logistics / Operations / COGS Controlling, ideally in FMCG or industrial environments
  • Strong exposure to multi‑country, matrix organisations
  • Proven ability to business partner Operations and Cycles & Procurement stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with a clear focus on risk identification and value‑adding insights
  • Strong ability to maintain a holistic view of performance, focusing on key drivers, risks and implications rather than getting lost in the details
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and senior‑level interaction
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills are required
