The Pack & Plastic Water and Operations Controller plays a key role in steering financial performance and forecast accuracy for two strategic procurement categories: Plastic Waters and Plastic EDP/SN. Acting as the primary finance contact for these scopes, the role combines strong ownership of forecasting and actuals analysis with hands‑on business partnering in a highly volatile, commodity‑driven environment.
About the Job
1. End‑to‑End Forecast Ownership & Business Partnering
The role leads the full forecast process for Plastic Waters and Plastic EDP/SN, ensuring high‑quality inputs, timely delivery, and clear financial narratives. As a trusted sparring partner to buyers, the controller gathers and challenges data, builds robust analyses, and translates complexity into actionable insights—particularly around the split between upstream impacts (commodity and oil‑linked drivers) and conversion costs (energy, labor). Acting as a proactive business partner to buyers will be key in a volatile market context
A strong focus is placed on sustainability and DIJ (Danone Impact Journey), with plastics being a key contributor to sustainability performance, making cost transparency and assumptions critical.
2. Monthly Actuals Analysis & Performance Reviews
The role is responsible for the monthly analysis of actuals versus forecast, ensuring deviations are well understood and explained. It leads monthly closing meetings with buyers and enriches discussions with deeper insights on coverage, DPO, productivity, and cost drivers, reinforcing performance discipline, transparency, and value‑adding insights beyond price variances.
3. Digitalization & Process Enhancement
As part of a transforming controlling function within C&P, the role actively supports and contributes to digitalization initiatives, including Power BI reporting, automation of processes, and IA‑based solutions. The objective is to increase efficiency, reliability, and insight generation across forecasting and performance management.
What Defines Success in the Role:
Forecasts that are robust, well‑owned, and trusted by procurement teams
Actuals analysis that enables faster, better decision‑making
Strong buyer partnerships in a volatile plastics and oil‑linked environment
Tangible progress in digitalization, automation, and sustainability tracking
