ABOUT THE ROLE - Te tūranga mahi

 

As a Senior Quality Compliance Coordinator, you will operate as a technical specialist in our Food safety team of 3 reporting to the Food Safety Manager and within our Quality & Food Safety (QFS) function. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening the site’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS), enhancing compliance maturity, and ensuring that Danone Nutricia NZ meets all regulatory and global standards across our Auckland manufacturing facility. In this senior role, you will provide expert oversight, lead complex assessments, support cross‑functional alignment, and act as a key technical authority for site compliance.

This is a permanent, full‑time position, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm. Due to the complexity of our 24/7 operations, occasional shift or after‑hours support may be required to ensure continuity of compliance and audit readiness.

You will:

  • Lead the site’s complaint management process, including monthly trend analysis, complex investigations, food safety and quality risk assessments, and root‑cause analysis (RCA) with high‑quality corrective actions and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Provide senior‑level expertise on compliance to Pre-requisite programs (PRPs), HACCP, FSSC 22000, RMP, Halal, Organic, SAMR, GACC, Danone Food Safety Index (FSI) and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the site’s internal audit programme end‑to‑end. Provide expert guidance during internal and external audits, supporting audit strategy, evidence readiness, and corrective‑action sustainability. Ensure audit outcomes are robust, risk‑based, and aligned with Danone global and regulatory expectations.
  • Strengthen FSMS through validation/verification, HACCP review and updates, and risk‑based system improvements.
  • Act as a senior compliance advisor to QA, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and laboratory teams, building capability and driving a mature quality culture.
 

About you

ABOUT YOU - Mō Koe

 

You are an experienced compliance or food safety professional with the technical depth and leadership capability to influence across a complex manufacturing environment. You bring proactive risk‑based thinking, strong system knowledge, and confidence in navigating regulatory frameworks.

To be successful you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or similar.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Quality, Food Safety or Compliance within food or dairy manufacturing.
  • Advanced working knowledge of FSMS components including HACCP, PRPs, GMP/GHP, validation/verification, and regulatory frameworks (NZ dairy legislation, Codex, OMARs, SAMR, GACC).
  • Strong capability in audit leadership (internal/external) and familiarity with certification programmes (FSSC 22000, RMP, Organic, Halal, etc.).
  • Demonstrated expertise in structured problem‑solving, data‑based decision making, and CAPA governance.
  • High proficiency in MS Office; Power BI and ASANA experience are an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead cross‑functional discussions, influence decisions, and drive sustainable compliance outcomes.
