The Manager - Demand Planning & GPS will be responsible for the creation, analysis, and communication of an optimal base forecast of the demand plan utilizing SAP APO modeling and key figure structure for US and Canada locations. The position will lead the collaborative S&OP (GPS) process with key stakeholders for alignment and creation of optimized total forecast to meet business planning needs and to ensure maximum service at lowest cost. They will play a key role in the budget process in leading the development of the bottoms-up baselines with key stakeholders.  Will also play a key role in the Innovation and Renovation project process, to ensure project timelines and metrics are met.
 
Essentials Functions:
 
Essential functions cover Danone North America Medical Nutrition (US and Canada).
 
Demand Planning 
 
Animate the Demand Planning process on short/ mid and long terms.
Create and maintain a rolling 18 month forecast in SAP APO as well as new O9 system.
Analyze and clean historical data such as non-repeating events and stock outs.
Optimize system forecast output by maintaining statistical model parameters.
Track and report in APO/O9 additional customer-based intelligence, competitive impact, marketing or sales intelligence to enhance baseline forecast.
Maintain both commercial and sample forecasts.
Calculate, analyze, and report key performance indicators.
Maintain APO related master data in the system based on agreed set parameters and business rules.
Facilitate meetings between functions and businesses to gain consensus on one single forecast as part of the monthly S&OP (GPS) process.
Ensure consistency of forecasts from period to period, tracking and explaining changes and helping identify risks and opportunities to the forecast.
Work with sales, marketing and finance teams to provide specialized analytical support for Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain.
Provide reporting for the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) process.
 
Sales and Operations Planning Process (GPS)
 
Identify stakeholders and stand-up Danone GPS process from the ground up in newly acquired businesses.
Lead GPS monthly meetings (Demand Alignment, Integrated Reconciliation, Executive GPS Meeting and others) within an 18-month horizon.
Prepare and lead meetings with key business stakeholders by providing reviews of past planning performance and gap vs forecast – Drive forecast consensus.
Analyze and outline deviations from targets in both volumes and values, identify root cause and implement corrective action plan with the GPS team including financials.
Develop and lead animation of NPI/Renovation scorecard.
Partner with Associate Manager, Supply planning to drive a successful business unit GPS process.
 
Activity Management - Innovation and Renovation Process
 
Own supply chain project tasks.
Coordinate project between global and local key stakeholders according to project timeline so the demand information are reported in a timely manner in the demand plan.
Ensure streamlined communication between market project team and global key stakeholders
Understand and communicate cost impact variances to project plan.
Coordinate supply chain tasks for products phase-in and phase-out.
Maintaining system master data at SKU level (parameters, characteristics, Orsoft flow).

 

 

The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 – $145,000.00 USD.   • Strong statistical and analytical knowledge.
  • Strong experience in Sales and Operations Planning, both process improvement and process leadership.
  • Strong ability to prepare and present data to multiple levels in the organization.

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

  • Project management experience utilizing a defined and clear methodology.
  • Skilled in being able to influence stakeholders at all levels where no direct reporting relationship exists.
  • Robust competence in gaining buy-in and rallying different part of the business with different points of view together to a singular way forward.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Expert skills in Excel and ability to work in Power BI.

 

Supervisory responsibilities:
The Manager – Demand Planning & GPS is an individual contributor; there are no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Working conditions:
Job is performed in an office-based and warehouse environment.

Requires less than 10% domestic and international travel.



Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business or related field.
  • 4-8 years of Demand Planning, Sales and Operations Planning, and/or Project Management
  • Knowledge of Advanced Planning Systems - SAP APO, 09

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • APICS certification a plus.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Advanced Planning and/or ERP software experience.  SAP APO.
  • Experience in medical foods or fast-moving consumer goods a plus.
