We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support Danone NORAM month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis, internal controls, and stakeholder reporting. This role partners closely with business stakeholders across corporate offices, manufacturing plants, the Service Delivery Center in Mexico, and consolidation teams to deliver accurate, timely financial support and drive continuous improvement across accounting processes. This role can be based out of White Plains, NY or Louisville, CO!

 

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting core operations accounting activities, strengthening controls, and providing analyses that enable informed business decisions.

  • Conduct month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, performing variance analysis, ensuring proper cut-off, and communicating significant or unusual business matters.
  • Partner with Manufacturing teams, Supply Chain Finance, and the Service Delivery Center to resolve accounting issues and support timely close execution.
  • Provide accounting support to NORAM business stakeholders across corporate offices and manufacturing plants.
  • Develop and implement processes that support continuous improvement and strong business results.
  • Provide accounting support for operational projects and system implementations, including process design, SAP/FICO testing, issue resolution, go-live support, and preparation of sustainable handoff documentation.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely financial support to management, including developing and reporting key performance measures.
  • Support and prepare analyses for internal control, internal audit, tax, and external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and foster a culture that encourages the highest level of integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position is $70k-85k USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.  Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options. This role is considered a “hybrid” position that allows for flexible work, meaning it is a role where collaboration with key stakeholders in Danone Hubs occurs. While you may have the option to work from home on a schedule as agreed to with your supervisor, you are also expected to regularly report to your assigned office location at least 3 days per week.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting experience, analytical capability, systems knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions while managing multiple priorities with accuracy and accountability.

To be successful in this role, you should be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic accounting environment.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of IFRS preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • SAP knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment while effectively managing individual tasks and priorities.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and a flexible mindset.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently.
  • Self-starter who is dependable and able to respond quickly and accurately to multiple priorities.
  • Ability to identify issues or control weaknesses and develop and implement recommendations for resolution.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
