At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Flow Manager (Warehouse Manager) based in our West Jordan, Utah yogurt manufacturing plant!  

 

This role is responsible for managing the flow of raw materials and finished goods from receipt to consumption through our internal warehouses, external warehouses, and production facilities. This role will manage SQCDMN (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, and Nature) 24/7 for the Flow (Raw, Cooler, Waste) and WMS departments. A strong, cross-functional business relationship with manufacturing, supply chain, and finance is imperative for this role. The Flow Manager will also continuously identify physical and systematic process improvements associated with these responsibilities. This position reports to the Production Director 

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

Leadership: 

  • Communicating safety awareness as primary to all employees; maintaining safe working conditions; proposing ideas to improve safety within the plant. 
  • Providing daily leadership to all levels of the department, developing growth plans and providing a positive working environment. 
  • Encouraging employee involvement and displaying Danone Leadership Behaviors throughout everything you do. 
  • Participating in and supporting plant continuous improvement and IWS efforts. 
  • Providing strategic oversite of cooler, raw pack, and WMS areas. 
  • Managing headcount, overtime and temporary employees to ensure business needs are met and within budget. 
  • Continuously improving performance based on the key performance indicators for inventory, quality, and OE impacts related to Flow. 
  • Effectively contributing to problem resolution by participating in and/or leading root cause problem solving efforts. 
  • Working closely with Supply Chain, Production and Finance leadership in order to strive for continuous improvement in all areas of operation. 

 

Core Functional Expectations: 

  • Accountable for ensuring acceptable levels achieved for Dango (internal control) requirements for Inventory control items. Participating in annual audit of internal control. 
  • Working with procurement and planning teams to ensure proper levels of inventory are being kept and transfers taking place as planned. 
  • Working closely with local 3PL to ensure Raw Material inventory accuracy and on-time delivery to plant 
  • Reviewing and approving cycle count adjustments for Raw Materials and Finished Goods, addressing concerns and/or driving improvements. 
  • Ensuring timely production order closing, driving system improvements. 
  • Leading and/or actively participating in projects related to Inventory, Systems, cost reductions or other projects determined a priority by Leadership. 
  • Working with R&I and plant operations in scheduling new product and raw material trials as needed. 
  • Ensuring timely incident reports are filled out with details of production incidents to aid in quicker resolution of the issues. 
  • Managing Flow budget and driving productivity within the scope of Flow 
  • Providing oversite and leadership to labor scheduling, optimization, and strategy 
  • Other duties as required

About you

 

  • A Bachelors degree in Chemical /Mechanical/Industrial Engineer or related, preferred.  HS diploma/GED is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in food manufacturing, dairy experience, preferred 
  • 5+ years supervisory experience within a food/beverage, or other manufacturing environment, required. 
  • 5-10 years in planning, material and inventory movement, and/or warehousing, required. 
  • Knowledge of SAP, production, or warehouse management applications, required. 
  • Experience with lean and process improvements, project management and team leadership 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, guide, and promote direct reports 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and warehouse management applications 
  • Must possess strategic vision and executional excellence  
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organization, and time-management skills 
  • Sound business acumen with corresponding analytical and judgment skills 
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) across all levels of the organization and can foster effective cross-functional partnerships 
  • Ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate, required.
