Casual Hygienist

About the job

We’re looking for a Casual Hygienist to jump in and support our team in Balclutha as and when needed. This is a flexible, on‑call style role with no guaranteed minimum hours - perfect if you’re after work that fits around your lifestyle.

You’ll be helping us keep the site clean, safe, and running smoothly by supporting our hygiene team whenever extra hands are required.

Your day-to-day could include:

  • Keeping different areas of the plant clean and tidy
  • Helping out with hygiene checks and audits
  • Pitching in with the team to get cleaning tasks done well
  • Completing paperwork accurately and on time
  • Making sure all hygiene records are filed correctly
  • Jumping in during internal or external audits

This is a casual role, so hours will vary based on business needs.

Please note: the job is physical, with standing for long periods and some heavy lifting.

About you

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A strong commitment to keeping the site clean and meeting Danone’s hygiene standards
  • At least one year of experience in a high-care or hygienic dairy manufacturing environment
  • Great teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical fitness and reliability
  • Good organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently while keeping hygiene standards high
  • An eye for potential risks and safety issues
  • Plenty of energy and commitment
  • Basic computer skills
