At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Flow Lead on Night Shift based in West Jordan, UT!  

 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

The Flow Lead plays a crucial role in achieving SQCDMN goals and objectives through both individual and team efforts. This position involves leading the resolution of process issues and driving the implementation of standards. The Flow Lead collaborates with the Flow Supervisor, the WMS team, and the PE to support and implement sustainable quality and safety practices in the Flow Department.

 

The base compensation range for this position is $23.48/hr. + $1.25/hr. Shift Differential. In addition, you will receive a $2.00/hr. Shift Premium. Upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, your rate of pay will increase to $26.09/hr. +$1.25/hr. Shift Differential. In additiaon, you will receive a $2.00/hr. Shift Premium. This position will work 12-hour shifts on Night Shift, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, on a rotating 3-4-4-3 schedule. Training may occur on day shift.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Supports achievement of SQCDMN goals and objectives through individual and team efforts
  • Supports Flow Supervisor on setting direction, and training/coaching for operators
  • Addresses and resolves any equipment and systems faults related to the ASRS, conveyors or other equipment in the Cooler Warehouse. This task is physically demanding as employee must climb inside the ASRS up to 10 levels high wearing the required fall protection equipment.
  • Supports improvements of Raw Material, Waste Management, and Cooler process gaps
  • Closely works with Flow Supervisor, WMS team, and PE to support and implement sustainable quality, and safety practices
  • Supports resolution of process issues, updates Supervisors, and helps guide teams to the next performance level
  • Reports to Flow Supervisor.
  • Assists with best practices through work leadership and coaching performance.
  • Addresses employees’ safety, process concerns, elevating them to next level Supervisor/Leadership.
  • Helps sustain and identify gaps in safety regulations (WISE)
  • Supports the improvement, monitoring and communication of performance standards, including but not limited, area boards, daily/weekly/monthly reporting.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings jointly with Flow Supervisors to discuss topics related to previous shift, SQCDMN metrics, and general plant communication.
  • Supports Flow PE in the implementation of CAPEX project and process improvements.
  • Reviews OPLs, SOPs and other training documents with department employees.
  • Aids in the creation and implementation of SOPs and OPLs
  • Forklift Certified Trainer for respective shift
  • Assists supervisors as safety Point contact for the area/shift, including communicating of safety updates, safety training sessions.
  • Promotes a positive team atmosphere and champions involvement of all employees for area metrics.
  • Initiates/suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals, support operators through their coaching and development.
  • Learn to coordinate warehouse personnel to effectively meet the demands of the shipping and receiving schedule as per documented procedures.
  • Reports any maintenance needs of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About you

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

 

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; higher education preferred.
  • Forklift driving experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and organization skills.
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resourcefulness and decision-making ability
  • Demonstrated ability to train warehouse staff.
  • 1-2 years' experience in warehouse/shipping within a manufacturing environment desirable and may be substituted for education.
  • Experience with and capable of driving sit-down and stand-up forklifts
  • Experience with Inventory Management and Inventory Control strongly preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to use a computer, have basic math skills and good communication skills.
  • Have strong attention to detail, and good mechanical aptitude.
  • Know and follow all the safety rules, plant rules, GMP, and code of ethics and always follows them strictly.
  • Train & operate powered industrial equipment (Forklifts and others) and navigate in tight spaces and high traffic areas.
  • Show ability to perform physical demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
