We are currently recruiting for a Junior Industrial IT Engineer position. This is a Permanent Contract, full-time role. This role is based in our busy Digital & Performance Team at our Wexford factory in Ireland and reports to the Site Technology and Systems Manager.

 

Outline of the Role:

The Junior Industrial IT Engineer will adopt a proactive approach to provide internal customers with OT support to enable Danone employees to operate more effectively and efficiently. The post holder will analyse and troubleshoot customer problems, advise on appropriate action, educate Equipment owners on OT capability, support the delivery of new projects and solutions that ensure a constant rate of continuous improvement is maintained year on year. This involves keeping up with the ever-changing technological environment and equipment changes. The post-holder will support Factory Floor specific components related to operations implementation. More job duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Troubleshoot issues regarding equipment like printers, scanners, computers/emulators, ipads and servers etc thoroughly confirming any fix with End User to confirm full operational functionality is restored.
  • Respond to tickets raised by End Users as per above document fix and resolve ticket within the defined resolution time.
  • Configuration and maintenance of hand-held device, i.e. tablets, iPads, etc.
  • Assist in the ordering, receiving, storage, documenting Equipment, Labelling Equipment, deployment and retirement of OT assets in accordance with Danone Governance Compliance.
  • Support the OT teams in the maintenance of hardware, software, network and other systems.
  • Research potential solutions and creating proposals on pricing and system options.
  • Carry out analysis of and monitoring/reporting trends in system bugs or issues.
  • Assist users with industrial-specific and bespoke software.
  • Oversee all transitions into production.
  • Assist in input into product design and testing product features.
  • Develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements and other disciplines.
  • Attendance at update meetings and presenting to management when required, delegating for N-1 on occasion.
  • Alignment with standardisation of digital initiatives and goals, work alongside digital colleagues to support in digital in delivery of digital projects.
  • Ensure resolution of and/or appropriate escalation of issues.
  • Ensure that knowledge and experience is well documented and shared with colleagues.
  • Work as part of an agile team to understand feature requirements for projects and managing small/medium industrial/production projects.
  • Onboard in IWS methods and embrace department PDCA process.
  • Occasional support required out of normal working hours (Planned stoppages, shutdown & start up activities supporting production.)
  • Be a cybersecurity advocate and promote cybersecurity to all people on site and beyond.

  • Ability to work accurately with keen attention to detail, error identification and ability to challenge inconsistencies.
  • Agility to cope with pace of change and constantly evolving pictures.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
  • Ability to grasp complex matters quickly.

Education and Professional Experience:

  • Certificate qualification or higher in IT or related discipline.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience working in an IT/OT role in a fast paced/challenging environment.
  • Experience working with various IT systems and software including Active Directory, VMWare, Vsphere, Windows Server 2016 – 2022 to server manager competency, SQL server =, Windows 10, Windows 7 and understanding concepts of DHCP and DNS.
