At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Logistics Manager based in our City of Industry, California beverage manufacturing facility

 

In this role, you will be responsible for warehouse operational performance and customer service for the site.    You will provide strategic vision and tactical direction for Cold Storage, Dry Storage and 3rd party logistics utilization in a multi-facility ‘campus’ environment.  Additionally, you will provide guidance to multiple direct reports, hold responsibility for assuring efficient inventory levels and space availability to support enterprise demand, achieve on-time and order fill rate goals. You will partner closely across the organization and with other members of the Corporate Supply Chain Leadership Team including the Director Demand Planning, the Sr. Director of Customer Logistics and Distribution, the Director of Co-Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations as well as the field Plant Leadership Team to develop, implement, maintain, and improve warehouse operations and elevate customer service performance.

 

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead the efforts of the warehouse and planning teams which include the material planning, scheduling, finished good storage and transportation along with managing 3rd party relationships (warehousing, transportation)
  • Implement strategies, objectives, and priorities; with the goal of optimizing the warehouse operations in terms of safety, costs and efficiencies
  • Ensure that strong food safety considerations are built into key cross functional processes from forecasting (day’s supply) through on time customer delivery
  • Understand and be able to communicate to the organization heightened regulatory expectations for ambient and cold storage operations that may influence supply chain operations
  • Transform data into meaningful information and define activities that will drive improvement in warehouse operations
  • Grow and develop plant warehouse talent by providing new competencies, coaching and training
  • Investigate and correct warehousing issues that may negatively impact product availability through investigations, troubleshooting, policy/program review, program implementation, and operational assessments
  • Monitor and report compliance to inventory accuracy targets, fill rate, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. Implement corrective actions to remedy out of compliance
  • Interface with Transportation and Customer Logistics to elevate performance in the areas of inventory accuracy, customer delivery, product placement and replenishment
  • Assure that plant is audit- and inspection- ready at all times
  • All other duties as assigned

 

The base compensation range for this position is $130K - $160K per year commensurate with experience. About you

  • You have a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field, required.  A combination of equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of completed degree.
  • You have 5-8 years of leadership experience in an operations or warehouse role within a manufacturing or CPG environment, preferably in the food industry, with a focus on warehousing (ambient and cold), transportation, material handling and 3rd party logistics (3PL).
  • Prior experience within a food / beverage manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • You are a goal and results driven leader with experience working in SAP, eCommerce/EDI and WMS platforms.
  • You have experience with IWS / Lean Manufacturing, preferred
  • You have demonstrated process improvement experience in warehouse setting
  • You have strong inventory management experience with emphasis on customer service.
  • You have an understanding of warehouse tasks that incorporates internal/external operations put away and pick strategies, warehouse layout and design
  • You have an understanding of 3rd party contracts and can educate others to leverage for improved cost performance, and can influence the evolution of customer service for a competitive industry advantage.
  • You have the ability to support a 24/7 environment as business needs dictate. 
  • You have the ability to travel up to 10%
