At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Senior Specialist Digital System Data and Hardware based in our City of Industry, California beverage manufacturing plant.   

 

We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable in OT and Data Hardware enthusiast to join our team and support the transformation of our manufacturing environment towards Industry 5.0. You will be part of the core team on bringing next practices for the industry from AI Digital twins to genAI companions for manufacturing. 

 

Reporting into the site Operations Director, this position is focused on integrating human-centric technologies, advanced automation, AI, and IoT to create collaborative, intelligent, and sustainable industrial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Automation technology systems that connect the physical and digital worlds, ensuring seamless collaboration between machines and front-line colleagues in our factories. This role requires a strong understanding of OT, IT, and Automation technology systems including PLCs and connections, combined with a business-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of technology, leading practices, and a willingness to learn new skills from our platform partners, such as Palantir or others. This role will be crucial in implementing Industry 4.0 technologies and driving Industry 5.0 factory of the future projects, including a pilot digital twin in one of our plants.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

People 

  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, IT, Corporate Automation engineering and human-centric design teams, to ensure alignment of Automation systems with business objectives and human-centric goals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration. 
  • You will provide training and support to the team on automation systems and Industry 5.0 technologies, ensuring teams are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. 
  • You will facilitate effective communication between OT and other departments to ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of issues. 

Process 

  • You will lead deployment of Digital systems and tools towards Industry 5.0 and drive continuous improvement to enhance production processes, system reliabilities and human machine collaboration
  • You will develop and co-manage digital twin projects in one of our plants. 
  • You will create and manage databases (SQL/Influx) and dashboards (Grafana). 
  • You will develop and implement OT policies and procedures to ensure efficient, secure, and human-centric operations.
  • You will monitor and analyze OT system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions bringing in leading practices. 
  • You will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, maintaining up-to-date documentation. 

Technology 

  • You will lead the advanced industry 5.0 automation systems deployment such as Edge, AI with connectivity to Scada, Historian. 
  • You will work closely with platform partners to adopt and implement modern technologies and solutions. 
  • You will handle digital connectivity from PLC to cloud systems following Danone’s Cybersecurity Policies, ensure integration of new automation systems with IT infrastructure promoting IT/OT convergence and leveraging digital twins.  
  • You will enable and drive OT security policies, procedures to protect against cyber threats and ensure data integrity. 
  • You stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging them to drive innovation, efficiency, and human-centric design. 

 

 

The base compensation range for this position is $122,000-145,000 per year commensurate with experience. About you

Required Qualifications:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree (required) preferably in Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. 
  • You have 5+ years proven experience in managing automation systems integration. 
  • You have a strong understanding of PLCs, connections, and general technology. 
  • You have experience with Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 technologies. 
  • You have strong business acumen with the ability to align technology with business goals. 
  • You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • You have effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • You can work independently and as part of a team. 
  • You have a willingness to learn and adapt to modern technologies and platforms. 
  • You are experienced with MQTT, OPC-UA, REST API, SQL Databases, Docker, and .NET programming. 
  • You are passionate about digital technology, curious, and enthusiastic. 
  • You are results-oriented with a hands-on approach. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You have experience with Industrial analytics platform and partners.
  • You have project management experience.
  • You have certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies.
