Utilities & Energy Lead Engineer (location: Haps - fulltime) 

About the Job

As Utilities & Energy Lead Engineer you will lead and/or supervise utility related projects from concept phase through commissioning until handover to Maintenance and other user(s). You will be reporting directly to the Projects Engineering Manager and you will actively liaise and align with internal and external stakeholders.


The role request coverage of a broad scope of Utilities in the following areas:

  • Compressed Air
  • Ammonia refrigeration
  • Chilled Water
  • HVAC
  • Waste Water Treatment
  • Water
  • Gas
  • Sewer
  • Electricity


Key Accountabilities:

  • Project safety, quality, time to market & cost control
  • Leads and develops engineers to direct efforts, assess capacities and making sure continuity is safeguarded
  • Identifies needs for utilities, based upon requirements and developments
  • Aligns with stakeholders at different levels through communication & reporting, facilitating priority setting and decision making
  • Evaluates different options in consultation with experts, in and outside while recommending strategy
  • Ensures project resourcing, transversality and building a community of practice  while securing knowledge
  • Leads major projects and/or supervises multiple projects
  • Leads Masterplan development in area of responsibility
  • Leads technological developments and innovations to increase industrial efficiency and quality of products
  • Leads to the development of the global technology suppliers together with Central SSD Capex


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure the right needs description and project definition and transform these into technical proposals
  • (Writes) Reviews specifications, assesses supplier proposals and make recommendations for enhancements and investments
  • Will participate in requisition and management of capital authorization requests and is accountable for project spending
  • Contributes to Nutricia (Danone) Standards development and implementation
  • Is aware and protects Nutricia (Danone) specific technical know-how
  • Ensures technological watch of the market in competence field
  • Supports CO2 footprint reduction program
  • Support and training of the (future) plant staff for the technical matters
  • Coordinates development and maintenance of accurate documentation of Systems and distribution Network

About you

About You

You obtained minimal a Bachelor in Electrical, Electromechanical, Energies Engineering or similar educational background. In addition, you have >5 years of experience in managing utilities projects in a production environment.

Skills, knowledge:

  • Onsite (in the field) supplier management
  • Knows and uses the applications for project management, budget investment and monitoring (MS project, Excel)
  • Prepares the schedule for projects, determines the specifications and dimensions the installations
  • Analyses the supplier bids and proposes the choice of the supplier in collaboration with local procurement department
  • Managing commissioning and start-up (FAT, SAT and Final acceptance). Are a team player who can work autonomously as well


Experience:

  • Preferably relevant work experience within a (international) production environment;
  • Experience in project management preferable in Food Industry with Liquid & Powder Processing with experience in validation and hygienic equipment design
  • Experience with state of the art sustainable utility and energy systems


It would be great if you

  • Have relevant experience in the food, FMCG or pharmaceutical industry is an important nice-to-have, but not a must to be successful in this role.
  • Have experience managing construction in a Food Industry production environment.
  • Know your way around AutoCAD
  • Speak Dutch or would be willing to learn (Fluent in English is than a must)
