This position is responsible for working within the QA department of Corporate Danone NA.  Primary functions are twofold. First, the position is to be the technical resource (Domain lead) for all Quality data within Danone North America’s SAP/Guardian systems.  This requires the expertise for traceability, stock status management, site support for new system launches and any other operational quality input into the SAP/Themis/Guardian systems.  Second, the position is responsible for the management of all Operational quality metrics for Danone NA. This requires examining, summarizing, and reporting key quality metrics to a wide audience.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Contribute as a key member of the SAP/Themis Manufacturing Implementation Team (MIT).  The MIT will spend several consecutive weeks at each manufacturing plant leading up to, during, and post launch of the new system.
  • Test newly developed processes and systems within Themis for proper functionality.  Work directly with the IS/IT Central team(s) and local team to resolve issue(s) in the Themis system. 
  • Develop standardized SOPs for all SAP transactions related to Quality.
  • Implement traceability practices across all Danone NA plants and 3PLs to comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the interaction between HQ QA and Customer Service. Must be able to understand and interpret technical information from QA and Operations to provide coherent responses to customers via Customer Service.
  • Develop and manage key quality metrics (KPIs) in the form of a quality scorecard, which is to be communicated routinely throughout the organization, including Senior Leadership.  Quality metrics may include consumer complaints (expressed as a rate), product performance (based on internal measurements), plant operating parameters, and statistically based process controls. 
  • Validate the effectiveness of the traceability system and recall process.
  • Support escalated, urgent consumer and customer complaints on an as needed basis.
  • Provide support to QA department for special projects.

The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $105,000.00 USD. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Science/Food Science/Technology or similar major.
  • 3+ years combined experience with food, ingredients and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with quality metrics reporting.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Personal knowledge/experience of food plant manufacturing.
  • Must have thorough understanding of Quality Systems, Food Safety, and Quality Assurance.
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills esp. Excel and Access.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Guardian and/or similar ERP databases.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within organization.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible.
  • Self-driven, results oriented, able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with confidential materials.
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills
  • Excellent record keeping / documentation skills.
  • Detail oriented.

 

NONESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience with Consumer Affairs and/or Customer Service in CPG company

 

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Personal computer, Microsoft Office tools, SAP, Compliance & Regulatory guidelines, calculator.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a general office environment where the noise level is usually moderate.
