The Associate Category Manager for Global, Dollar, Discount & Club serves as a key category and analytics expert within the organization. This role translates category management principles into actionable insights through robust data analysis, shopper/consumer understanding, and strategic storytelling. The position will support all Danone categories across Global, Dollar, Discount, and Club retailers, helping to establish Danone as a trusted advisor and indispensable partner.
In this role you will be accountable for:
- Building and strengthening relationships with Global, Dollar, Discount & Club retailer partners to position Danone as the go‑to resource for category management expertise.
- Applying category management principles through strong analytics and consumer/shopper insights to create compelling, fact‑based category stories and recommendations.
- Leveraging multiple data sources (e.g., Circana Scan & Panel, Nielsen, 1010data, etc.) to develop business-driving reporting—including sales/share results, opportunity gap identification, SKU rationalization, post-promotion analysis, pricing reviews, and item performance tracking.
- Conducting in-depth category decompositions to identify trends, opportunities, and risks and converting insights into actionable recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Shopper Insights, Category Commercial, Supply Chain, Center of Excellence, etc.) to build customized solutions aligned with customer strategies and key initiatives.
- Supporting the development of strategic business plans, including category vision, tactics, and strategies to drive volume, contribution, and share growth.
- Solving complex business questions creatively within a limited data environment, demonstrating resourcefulness and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Responding quickly and efficiently to urgent requests for analysis, reporting, and presentation support in a dynamic and constantly evolving business environment.
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. - 4 year bachelors degree
- 2+ years of experience in Sales Analytics, Category Management, or a related CPG function.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, with experience producing accurate weekly/monthly sales, performance, and category reporting to support business insights and decision-making.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to connect insights to strategies and develop compelling data-driven stories.
- Strong experience with syndicated data (Circana and/or Nielsen). Experience with shopper insights and panel data strongly preferred.
- Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with internal teams and retailer partners; viewed as a “trusted advisor.”
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to engage confidently with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external customers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
