About the job

As part of this position, you will be accountable for:

 

The Retail Development Specialist for Danone is directly involved to drive in-store sales growth by executing Danone’s strategic retail plan (PICOS – Picture of Success) at an assigned territory (South Shore West of Montreal). As part of the national execution team, you will be a member of the Quebec retail development specialists reporting to the regional manager.  Through optimal store coverage and nourishing win-win relationships, the successful candidate will expand Danone’s presence at all outlets (distribution, space, displays, on-shelf availability, point of interruption) along Danone’s retail priorities.  The RDS will leverage retail capabilities (data, sales tools) to ensure compliance and capture opportunities at stores.  This is a unique sales development role with a daily shopper and customer interaction.       

 

More specifically:

  • Deliver the Danone PICOS – Picture of Success- execution plans to ensure compliance and identify sales opportunities with customers
  • Build strong mutually beneficial relationships and be able to maintain a strong business focus and shopper understanding.
  • Proactively manage and negotiate product distribution, space, visibility on display and on the shelves.
  • Interpret point of sales (POS) dollars and units’ data as well as market shares to identify opportunities
  • Negotiate merchandising tools placement and refrigerated units.
  • Conduct business reviews with customers and influence inventory management with pre-orders in store
  • Be creative, think outside the box and be a team player who is not afraid to share and learn from others.
  • Plan, prioritize and organize your own work and monitor progress vs target to ensure objectives are delivered on time and in full
  • Working in collaboration with a merchandiser
  • Cover your territory effectively

About you

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:

  • University degree in business administration or another relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a sales representative or relevant role
  • Bilingualism in French and English required
  • Interest in the consumer goods market
  • Communication, customer focus, and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and priorities
  • Agility, positive attitude, respect for the work ethic
  • Working knowledge of sales techniques and ability to persuade with facts and figures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, especially Excel)
  • Resides in the assigned territory (South Shore of Montreal)
  • Possesses a valid driver’s licence
