Hello, I’m Akshay

And I analyze milk at Danone

Did you know that milk is Danone’s biggest spend? As a Commodity Finance Analyst, I make sure to stay on top of (plant based) milk prices worldwide. Having joined Danone recently, I’m just starting to grasp all that goes on behind that pack of Alpro you pick up at the supermarket. Spoiler alert: it’s a lot.

My journey so far
  • Danoner since 2023
  • Commodity Finance Analyst

“At Danone, we truly cooperate with our farmers. We understand that they depend on our support and we want to make sure we always treat them well.”

HONEST BUSINESS WITH LOCAL FARMERS

I was really surprised (in a good way) to see how Danone conducts business with its milk suppliers. As a company, we truly cooperate with our farmers. We understand that they depend on our support and we want to make sure we always treat them well. To me, it is very important to work for an ethically conscious company. And I’m glad I have found that at Danone.

I can be myself here.
I can be myself here.

A NEW JOB, A NEW TEAM, A NEW COUNTRY

Being part of the global team I interact with team members worldwide on a daily basis. My colleagues are super talented and they are always willing to teach me everything I need to know. Moving to The Netherlands from Madrid, I had to adjust not only to a new job but also to a new country. I was lucky to receive some relocation assistance from Danone, which has helped me settle in quickly.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE?

Before I even had time to unpack, I was already attending an offsite in Romania exploring one of Danone’s plants. Learning about our operations on the ground is just one example of how Danone continuously encourages me to look beyond my own role.

Currently, I'm also peeking into sustainable packaging solutions and some data transformation projects. Danone’s support for its employees to step out of their comfort zone is evident, and I’m grateful for it.

My managers have helped me grow.

EXCITING TIMES AHEAD

Even though I just started, I already have a career plan conversation lined up with my manager and I am excited about what future holds! Here, the basis is really what you want out of your career, not what Danone wants. What my plans are? I’m keeping that to myself for now. Oh but on a personal note; I’ve just started learning how to play the violin…so let’s see how that plays out.

Akshay is looking for energetic and entrepreneurial people to join Danone. Sounds like you?
