Role Purpose:

The Corporate Communications Manager helps to build and, where necessary, protect the corporate reputation of Danone in the UK and Ireland. In contributing to this goal, the individual uses media relations as a channel to raise the company and its leaders’ profiles, helps manage the Danone UKI press office, drives key external campaigns, & manages and develops digital channels.

 Role Focus  

  • Work with the Head of Corporate Communications to nourish, leverage and protect Danone ‘s corporate and commercial reputation, on and offline, by helping to develop and deliver a corporate communications strategy
  • Respond to media requests across Danone’s brand portfolio in a timely, efficient and independent way, including participating in a 24hr cover rota and managing a press inbox
  • Through a deep understanding of Danone UKI’s main categories and business footprint (Essential Dairy, Plant Based, Beverages, Specialised Nutrition), manage and deliver campaigns that tell the Danone UKI story, as part of a wider corporate affairs plan.
  • Manage issues and crisis communication protocols
  • Manage media monitoring services, support on social media channel management and corporate website.  & social media monitoring services.
  • Support the Head of Corporate Communications during crises and moments of reputation management
  • Reputational oversight/media advice on UK brand PR activity when required (not delivery)
  • Help profile Danone’s leaders in the media and via other digital and face to face channels
  • Ability to shape and deliver campaigns that position Danone as a leader in health
  • Stakeholder engagement, including relationship building with journalists and opinion leaders

About you

About you

  • Comprehensive communications experience, preferably in similar FMCG businesses or other heavily regulated categories
  • Track record of managing corporate communications within or on behalf of large complex organisations
  • Experience of issues and crisis communication. Journalistic writing skills
  • Experience of hands-on media management, both proactive and reactive
  • Experience of building, managing and developing an organization’s corporate digital channels including social media
  • Understanding of creating and delivering campaign plans and contributing to wider comms strategies
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders in a matrixed organisation is beneficial, but not essential

Salary Bracket: The salary on offer for this role is between £55,000 - £65,000 + bonus & benefits
