ABOUT THE ROLE – Te tūranga mahi

 

We are currently looking for a Hygienist to join our team in Balclutha. This position offers the right candidate an excellent opportunity to manage their own territory, be a part of the Production Team. You will be responsible for promoting hygiene culture within the plant by taking the initiative to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness possible.

 

The key focus for you will be a part of the Hygiene team in following internal procedures, trackers and encouraging high hygiene standards across the site to deliver high-quality products. You will assist in achieving our business goals through your ability to be alert, follow our procedures, and be a great team player.

 

  • Maintaining a high cleaning standard.
  • Assisting with checks and audits to ensure cleaning is carried out to an expected standard.
  • Work with fellow team members to achieve a common goal of task completion at a high standard of cleaning.
  • On-the-job training of new staff members.
  • Ensure all related documentation is completed in a timely manner and filled out as true and correct.
  • Filled documents in the right way following our internal processes and keeping these records of information in the right place.
  • Participating in internal and external audits.

This vacancy is a permanent full-time, working Wednesday - Sunday, 5:30 am- 3:30 pm (minimum guaranteed 32 hours per week). Please note that this is a physical role that involves standing for long periods and some heavy lifting. You may also be required to undertake shift work.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The ability to ensure the cleaning of all areas is maintained to meet the Danone Standards.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience working in a high-care, hygienic dairy manufacturing environment.
  • To be able to work in a team environment.
  • To be able to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
  • Be physically fit.
  • Have good organisation skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform duties independently and efficiently, maintaining high standards of hygiene.
  • Be able to identify and respond appropriately to potential risks, ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
  • High levels of energy and commitment.
  • An understanding of contamination prevention protocols as well as the ability to effectively and efficiently take steps to prevent contamination.
  • Proven experience in chemical handling could be an advantage, but training will be given to the right candidate.
