At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Planning & Materials Coordinator based in Chatsworth, CA!  

 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

  • Inventory & Stockroom
    • Maintain organized and accurate inventory control for maintenance parts, supplies,
      chemicals, and gases.
  • Procurement, Receiving & Vendor Management
    • Create and manage purchase requisitions for parts, supplies, and contractor services.
    • Verify parts meet plant, food safety, and hygienic design requirements.
    • Coordinate receiving, inspection, documentation, and inventory transactions for incoming materials.
    • Department liaison for Procure-to-Pay (P2P) activities.
  • Hazardous Gas & Chemical
    • Coordinate with EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) teams to ensure proper handling and emergency procedures.
    • Ensure proper labeling and storage of chemicals and gases.
    • Coordinate refresher training on safe handling, PPE requirements, and spill response protocols.
    • Schedule and oversee periodic inspections and audits of chemical storage areas.
  • Work Planning/Scheduling
    • Create, maintain, and improve PMs aligned with OEM recommendations, sanitation cycles, and food safety requirements.
    • Review equipment history with supervisor to optimize PM frequencies and tasks.
    • Ensure PM execution and documentation supports GMP and FSSC compliance.
    • Plan and scope corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance work.
    • Contribute to weekly maintenance schedules in coordination with Operations, Quality, and Sanitation.
    • Develop vendor/contractor scopes of work detailing food safety and safety requirements.
    • Maintain CMMS data accuracy in asset and PM records.
  • Administrative and Compliance Support
    • Generate department reports, track KPIs, and communicate with stakeholders.
    • Assist with audits, inspections, and documentation for regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, FSSC, SQF).
    • Support onboarding and training of new maintenance staff regarding stockroom and hazardous material procedures.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Physical Demands:

  • This role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. 
  • The employee must be able to stoop, kneel, distinguish colors accurately, and work on their feet for extended periods while wearing all required safety equipment.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations, and occasional outdoor conditions. Work schedules could include nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide the ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate. 

 

Engagement in Our Integrated Work Systems:

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.   

 

Compensation & Benefits:

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

 

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree or technical certification, in Maintenance, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • High School/GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, maintenance planning, materials coordination, inventory control, MRO storeroom operations, or maintenance support within a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience in food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments with working knowledge of FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements, preferred.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS platforms for work order management, preventive maintenance planning, inventory control, and asset management preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge
    • Knowledge of OSHA and applicable local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
    • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance principles, including preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
    • Understanding of chemical handling requirements, cross-contamination risks, and allergen-specific procedures.
  • Skills
    • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills to support Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Sanitation, Safety, Engineering, Purchasing, and external vendors.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
    • Basic mathematical and analytical skills, including measurements, conversions, inventory calculations, and data analysis.
  • Abilities
    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply OEM manuals, equipment drawings, schematics, P&IDs, technical specifications, and safety documentation.
    • Ability to develop detailed job plans and translate technical requirements into actionable work instructions for technicians, contractors, and vendors.
    • Ability to work flexible schedules, including extended hours and weekends, as business needs require.
