As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end, accurate and timely processing of payroll for Thailand, with a progressive scope to expand into other regions. The role ensures compliance with local labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies. The role will be working closely with HR, Finance, employees, managers, and external payroll vendors to deliver high-quality payroll services.
Key Responsibilities:
a. Payroll Operations
Process end-to-end monthly payroll.
Validate payroll inputs including new hires, resignations, promotions, salary changes, allowances, overtime, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within agreed timelines.
Perform payroll reconciliation and validation before payroll finalisation.
Prepare payroll reports and statutory reports.
b. Time & Attendance
Review and validate attendance, overtime, leave, and shift data.
Follow up with HR and managers on missing or incorrect information.
Ensure approved attendance data is accurately reflected in payroll.
c. Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with Thailand labour legislation and payroll regulations.
Process and reconcile:
Personal Income Tax (PND)
Social Security Fund (SSF) Provident Fund (if applicable)
Other statutory deductions and employer contributions
Support year-end tax reporting and statutory submissions.
d. Employee Support
Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees, managers, and HR.
Explain payslips, payroll calculations, tax deductions, and leave impacts.
Resolve payroll issues promptly while maintaining confidentiality.
e. Payroll Controls
Perform payroll audits and reconciliations.
Identify payroll discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Maintain payroll documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
f. Vendor Management
Work closely with payroll system providers to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Raise and track payroll cases and system issues with vendors.
g. Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency and controls.
Support payroll transformation projects, system implementations, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Update payroll process documentation and standard operating procedures.
h. Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with HR, Finance, Rewards, Tax, IT, and business leaders.
Support internal and external audits.
Participate in regional payroll initiatives and projects as required.

About you
You'll thrive in this role if you have :
Fluency in both written and spoken Thai is essential to support Thailand payroll operations and to effectively manage communications, documentation, and stakeholder interactions in the local language.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
At least 3 years of regional payroll experience, preferably processing Thailand payroll.
Knowledgeable in payroll compliance, statutory regulations, and employment-related legislation, particularly within Thailand.
Comfortable partnering with payroll vendors and leveraging payroll technologies to ensure smooth operations
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Able to work independently while effectively managing competing deadlines.
Confident in engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders across the region.
Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret payroll data.
Familiarity with HRIS and Time & Attendance systems.
