About the job

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Production Planner based in Jacksonville, FL!  

 

Responsible for all aspects of product supply at co-manufacturers, distribution centers and/or company-owned manufacturing sites. 
This role will schedule production, manages inventory and plans short/long-term capacity in order to achieve targeted fill rates with minimal obsolescence. 

This role is expected to work Tuesday thru Saturday, day shift hours.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Execute production planning for broader Product Supply team, supporting process adherence, tight execution, long-term plan development and clear/timely communication
  • Create purchase orders in accordance with service and inventory objectives
  • Develop and execute weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual (as directed) predictive schedules to determine build, purchase and resupply requirements, using SAP planning tools
  • Collaborate with demand planning, customer service, logistics, procurement, and production facility planners to develop/adjust required inputs for detailed production planning
  • Understand future capacity/supply constraints (manufacturing, raw materials, packaging) affecting production by engaging stakeholders throughout the planning process and lead the development of recovery plans
  • Support cost reduction through effective and efficient capacity utilization
  • Gain consensus from upstream and downstream functions on pipeline fills, customer events, or seasonal products to ensure production plans are executable and aligned with demand
  • Maintain inventory at target levels for all assigned SKUs, through appropriate production planning and inventory balancing across the network
  • Create deployment orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels at production facilities, outside warehouses and distribution centers
  • Monitor existing/near-in FG shortages, identify root causes, develop/implement corrective actions and communicate such to management
  • Monitor “aged” inventories - perform root cause analysis of obsolescence and implementation of corrective/preventative action
  • Receive production into SAP and ensure outbound orders are posted within guidelines

About you

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year college degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of supply chain experience in customer service, distribution, or inventory/production planning required
  • Experience in food and beverage or consumer packaged goods (CPG) preferred
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SAP, Generix, etc, required.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience supporting problem solving and change implementation in a cross-functional/matrix organization required.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles such as IWS, TPM or others.
  • Able to support a 24/7 plant environment as business needs dictate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to anticipate problems and initiate corrective measures
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and make informed, data-driven decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to create clear reports and analyses
  • Quantitative and analytical skills, applied to understanding operational dynamics and root causes
  • Understanding of SAP MM, PP and SNP data and processes (or similar system)
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, materials scheduling management, inventory and finished goods management
  • Ability to deal in a customer-service-focused manner with a wide variety of people, personalities and problems
  • Ability to contribute to and fulfill responsibilities on a cross-functional team
  • Ability to contribute enthusiasm, support and cooperation in performing job duties and responsibilities on a daily basis
