Job Summary

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.  We are currently looking to hire a Reliability Engineer based in our Fort Worth, Texas manufacturing location.   This role is responsible for driving manufacturing safety and excellence by ensuring reliable equipment performance to meet production demand at the Fort Worth, Texas plant.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward.  The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

  • Lead Integrated Work Systems (IWS), Planned Maintenance (PM) and Breakdown Elimination (BDE) systems to eliminate unplanned downtime and improve asset reliability.
  • Provide 24/7 leadership and technical support for mechanics, fostering a culture of servant leadership and team empowerment.
  • Execute daily maintenance priorities through Daily Direction Setting (DDS), coordinating resources and ensuring timely completion of work.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that enhance safety, quality, cost efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the technical expert for assigned areas, partnering with Engineering on equipment changes and integration into maintenance processes.
  • Schedule, coach and develop maintenance leads and line teams across all shifts to build capability and sustain World Class Maintenance practices.
  • Ensure alignment of Business Unit maintenance activities with plant strategy, collaborating with the Plant Maintenance and Reliability Technical Manager as needed.
  • Support food safety and compliance by maintaining proper documentation, standards, and preventive maintenance schedules to include but not limited to BDE, IPS, RCA. 
  • Support Engineering, Production, Processing and Quality food safety and compliance by maintaining proper documentation, standards, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stoop, kneel, and distinguish colors accurately, work on your feet for extended times while wearing all required safety equipment.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and occasional outdoor conditions. You must have the ability to support a 24/7 production schedule including nights, weekends and 24/7 on-call support as needed.

Engagement in Integrated Work Systems

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.  A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or related field is highly preferred.  
  • Minimum 3-5 years in developing, leading teams, end executing proven maintenance reliability programs, budget management and direct front line leadership experience required.  Experience within a food/beverage manufacturing environment, strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of a completed bachelor’s degree, a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • Must have experience with P&ID drawings and experience with CIP processes. 
  • Must have experience with BDE/RCA/IPS and preventive/predictive maintenance concepts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, supervisory and communication skills required to work with all levels of plant personnel while leading teams in production environments.
  • Ability to read, write, interpret, and effectively train others on documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency in maintenance planning, scheduling, GMP’s and reliability tools.
  • Ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, drive continuous improvement and utilize KPI’s.
  • Ability to utilize storeroom management concepts.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, MVP, SAP, 4Industry, SharePoint, Smartsheet and Concur preferred.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures and guidelines with a strong understanding of safety data sheets, confined space entry, lock out/tag out and stop work authority. 
  • Must be self-motivated, energetic, determined and enthusiastic self-starter with strong analytical skills to challenge the status quo. 

Ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate.  Work schedules could include days, nights or weekend work schedules as needed
